Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s third season is here, but its Steam debut has failed to entice players back to the game.
Season three of Rocksteady’s misfit co-op shooter arrived yesterday, 1st October, bringing new playable character Zoe Lawton with it. This season also lands players back in Gotham, but not as we have seen it before.

Another day, another PSA: this time, it appears some stores have broken Silent Hill 2 Remake’s street date, and retail copies of the seminal horror game are out in the wild.
Whilst some fans were already trying to avoid the clips and spoilers leaking out of officially-sanctioned hours-long streams, images purportedly taken of the physical release – featuring a disc with “There was a hole here. It’s gone now” emblazoned across it, and reversible cover art – are popping up on reddit, as well as other social media sites.

An AI powered copyright tool is being used to remove AI generated images of Nintendo characters such as Mario from the internet.
That’s according to a report from The Verge, whose own reporter Tom Warren received a takedown notice for his AI generated artwork, which showed Mario sitting on a beach with a cigarette in one hand and a steaming (not sure why) pint of beer in the other.
The publication said a company called Tracer has been filing these takedown notices against AI images featuring Nintendo’s moustachioed plumber and his pals, including ones made with xAI’s Grok AI tool.

Sony and Team Asobi have given us our first peek at Astro Bot’s upcoming – and free – DLC add on.
This DLC will include five new online speedrunning levels, as well as 10 new bots to rescue. Which bots, I hear you ask? Well, while Team Asobi hasn’t revealed all of them, we did get a look at the bot-version of Stellar Blade’s Eve (a bot we suspected would be making an appearance) and a Helldivers 2 Helldiver in the new teaser trailer.
Eve can be seen glugging cans of pop (cans are collectibles found in almost every area of Stellar Blade), while the little bot Helldiver makes sure his flag is standing straight. Appearances matter, you know. Also, both bots can dance! Don’t believe me? You can for yourself below.

The mass exodus of staff from hit indie game company Annapurna earlier this month has been described as “a baffler” by a company spokesperson.
The publisher – responsible for the likes of Stray, Outer Wilds, and Cocoon – saw its entire staff quit following a dispute with the company’s owner that’s put its future in jeopardy.
Developers working on projects with Annapurna have since reassured players they will still be able to play planned future releases, but it remains unclear how the dispute can be resolved or how Annapurna will continue with its projects. It is, however, openly hiring to replace staff.

The new owners of mobile game revival Flappy Bird have released a statement to “clear the air” on their intentions, but are yet to acknowledge claims it’s based on cryptocurrency.
If you missed it, last week the Flappy Bird Foundation announced the game’s return as it had newly acquired the official rights.
Afterwards, original creator Dong Nguyen stated he had nothing to do with the revival. “I did not sell anything,” he wrote on social media. “I also don’t support crypto.”

We already knew another Star Wars Jedi game was in the works at developer Respawn Entertainment, but EA has now confirmed it’ll be the “final chapter” in Cal Kestis’ saga.

Not-quite-official word of a third Star Wars Jedi game first surfaced last October when Cal Kestis actor Cameron Monaghan told fans, “We’re in the process of [making it] right now”. Formal confirmation of its development then followed this February, shared as part of a projects update in the aftermath of significant layoffs at EA.

Now, though, speaking during EA’s latest Investor Day presentation, the company’s president of entertainment and technology, Laura Miele, has shared the first bit of solid information on Star Wars Jedi’s third instalment, confirming it to be the last. “Over 40 million Star Wars fans have connected with Cal Kestis and his arc of becoming a powerful Jedi,” Miele said. “Respawn is working hard to bring the final chapter of this thrilling story to players.”

After PlayStation and Firewalk made the decision to pull Concord from sale two weeks after the hero-shooter made its debut, industry members have started to share their sympathies with the team involved.
Gears of War’s Cliff “CliffyB” Bleszinski shared a short post on social media, reading: “Concord, I feel your pain.”
Bleszinski previously set up Boss Key Productions, a now defunct studio, which released its own hero shooter, LawBreakers. Despite a big pre-release push by publisher Nexon, LawBreakers flopped, with its Steam concurrent player count peaking at 7482 in June 2017 when it launched via open beta.
In a follow up reply, Bleszinski noted his team had worked on LawBreakers for three years prior to its release. Concord had reportedly been in development for eight.
